Poem by Dan Stone
Yes, there's something
here to see.
Feel free to take it in.
Have a good look
just don't ask us
to step aside
or move apart.
This crowd won't thin.
We won't disperse
or disappear
because it took
our tears, our blood,
our sweat to get
to where we are
from where we've been.
We need to stand
for what we love,
for what we've learned,
for every corner
that we've turned
to show our fears
who we can be.
We need to sing
each chorus, verse,
that tells us how
to face these years,
how friends endure
for better, worse,
We gather, share
the gifts we bring,
our hopes fulfilled,
our vision, grace,
the strength
we only build
by holding hands
in unity and making sure that nothing, no one,
breaks our will
or takes our place.
